Forget for a moment how helpful
GNU Autoconf is. Whoever decided that it would be a good idea to name the resulting helper scripts
"config.nice" and
"config.status" deserves a smack upside the head. Did this person not use tab-completion in their shell?!? I can't tell you how many times I've gone to a previously
./configure'd source directory to re-
./configure and typed
./co<TAB> and got
./config followed by a
*BEEP!*. So aggravating! At least
./config isn't the name of a script that does some destructive thing.
